マートン氏は「私の経験上、この様な辛い時期は、目の前の戦いに集中し、前向きに、勝利を信じて、努力し続けることが大切だと思います」とアドバイス。「選手もコーチも、今後も必死に戦ってくれると信じています。引き続き、タイガースの応援をよろしくお願いします。『強い身体、強い心、熱いハート』さぁ行こう!」とエールを送った。
